子麒麟のうた
The KoKirin's Song
風が吹くと春になった 雨が降ってきて、あたりは霧につつまれた 子麒麟がうたい 雨が踊った
The wind blew and it was spring.
It started to rain and everything was swept in fog.
Kokirin sang and the rain danced.
雨があがると夏になり、太陽は空気を乾かした うたはこだまになってもどってきて
子麒麟のまたの下をくぐっていった 夜にうたうと 星のかけらが落ちてきて、すべてを照らした
when the rain stopped, it was summer. The sun dried the air.
The song echoed and came back sliding beneath his legs.
As he sang at night a piece of a star fell from the sky illuminating everything.
草木が色付きはじめると、秋になった
むすめの思いは うたになって 空気をゆらし 子麒麟のこころに届いた 子麒麟はむすめと うたった
The leaves started to turn, and it was fall.
The girl's thoughts set the air atremble and became a song.
虫がうたを終えると、冬になった
子麒麟の体毛が生えかわると同時に おおきくてふかふかの雪がゆっくりと 宙を舞って 降りてきた
When the insects stopped singing, it was winter.
The kokirin grew new fur and at the same time large snowflakes started falling slowly to the ground dancing through the air.
That reached the kokirin. The kokirin and the girl sang together.
ふたりは うれしくなって あたりが真っ白になるまで うたい続けた
They both became happy and sang 'til all was white.
